Hopi ear candling is a therapeutic treatment in which a candle made from linen, beeswax and therapeutic oils is gently inserted into the ear canal. It is then lit and held in place whilst the candle burns down. As it burns it creates a warm vacuum where it is believed the ear drum is gently massaged by the smoke and warm vapour causing pressure in the sinus cavity and ear to be equalised.
